Summer Publishing Program
Applications are now opened to incoming first-years!
The inaugural JPS Summer Publishing Program is an exciting opportunity for incoming first-years to join the Journal of Politics & Society and get hands-on experience working at a published research journal. The program is designed to provide incoming first-years with the skills and experience necessary to explore their interest in undergraduate social science research and get an early insight into student life at Columbia University.
Program Description
Over the course of the program, participants will work closely with experienced editors and writers, learning the ins and outs of the JPS publishing process from start to finish. The summer cohort will have the opportunity to both experience a) working as an Associate Editor in editing research papers for publication and b) composing original research to be published in association with the Journal. We will also have panels on student life and internships at Columbia, as well as bonding events.
By the end of the program, students will have produced a fully-researched and polished academic article, ready for publication in the Journal of Politics & Society, and successful participants in the program will be eligible for roles within JPS this coming Fall. The Program will run remotely from June 22nd to August 3rd.
Eligibility
Students seeking to apply for the JPS Summer Publishing Program must be incoming first-years and transfer students entering Columbia College, Columbia Engineering, Columbia School of General Studies, or Barnard College in the fall of 2023.
